Welcome to the final update on this amazing transformation in Alexandria, Virginia. This stunning Cape Cod is now home to its new family and we wanted to take you through the final journey.
Don’t let the size of this home fool you, because inside there are over 3,000 sq ft of space, five bedrooms, and four baths. We kept the beautifully hand-crafted and hand-built shaker cabinets, sanded them down, painted them white, and added some modern hardware. We took down some walls, opened up the space, and added a gray island peninsula that opens to the living and dining room areas.
The primary suite has been expanded by taking some space from other areas on the floor. We added a full primary bath with double vanities with marble countertops and a stunning large shower. In the video we are sharing a great tip on how to do this, so make sure you tune in to hear what you can do “to” get some space in some of these older homes.
Moving down to the basement we extended and maximized the living space to add a fifth bedroom, full fourth bath, and a huge recreation area for the family to enjoy, along with a complete laundry room and hidden storage.
