2020 NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATIONS IN NOVA

What are you doing New Years Eve? If you still haven’t made plans or you are unsure about the best ways to ring in the New Year, we have done all the research for you. From balloon drops and champagne toasts to fireworks and family-friendly activities, we’ve got the skinny on all the fun! We composed a guide to some of the best 2020 New Year’s Eve celebrations in DC and Northern Virginia. Here’s what we know:


WASHINGTON, D.C.

2020 New Year’s Eve Gala at Willard InterContinental Washington, DC If you are looking for an elegant evening of fine dining and dancing, this is the New Year’s Eve party for you. The Willard InterContinental is a luxurious hotel located two blocks from the White House. This black tie event features a 3-course dinner or buffet dinner, desserts, free-flowing champagne, an open bar, midnight balloon drop, party favors, and more. You can dance the night away to a variety of music and live bands in themed ballrooms and night clubs. Must be 21 years old. Tickets are $120 – $295.00.

Don your best party dress for a thrilling evening of celebration. Ring in the New Year to music by Miami’s DJ Q. Enjoy complimentary champagne and passed hors d’oeuvres from 9:30 – 10:30 p.m. Party masks will be provided. Tickets start at $50.00.


ALEXANDRIA

First Night Alexandria Old Town of Alexandria puts on one of the best family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebrations in the area. The party takes place at various locations throughout Alexandria with four Kids Karnivals from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. The main event kicks off at 10:00 p.m. at the waterfront. Enjoy live performances, food trucks, prizes, and a midnight fireworks display! The all-access badge is $30.00. Military members receive one free ticket. FALLS CHURCH

Watch Night City of Falls Church – 22nd Anniversary Celebrating New Year’s Eve on a budget can be simple and fun for the whole family. Join the City of Falls Church for their FREE and family-friendly New Year’s Eve party at the 100 Block of West Broad Street from 7:00 p.m. to midnight. Attendees will enjoy music performed by live bands, children’s activities, a moon bounce, a velcro wall, a puppet show, caricature and balloon artists, fire pits, snacks, and much more! ARLINGTON

Noon Year’s Eve at Columbia Pike Branch Library If you have small children, we know how hard it can be to get everyone out of the house, much less stay up late for a midnight celebration. This is the perfect alternative to celebrate New Year’s with your children without disturbing their precious sleeping habits. Join the Arlington County Public Library for an afternoon of games, crafts, and light refreshments from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. They will even count down to the noon hour! Learn more.


FAIRFAX

Family New Year’s Eve Party at Dave and Buster’s This is a great way for the whole family, teens and parents alike, to celebrate New Year’s Eve together. Dave and Buster’s at Fair Oaks Mall is hosting a family oriented night of food and fun from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Choose your package and enjoy an appetizer buffet, desserts, unlimited soft drinks, Power Cards, additional video game plays, and a video ball drop.
